With an official MOP of Rs 14,999, the main spec highlights for this phone include a 3.5-inch HVGA (320 x 480 pixel resolution display), complemented by an entry-level 600 MHz S1 series Qualcomm CPU, same as the one found on the HTC Explorer and Motorola Defy Mini XT320.

A new and affordable Android smartphone from Sony is now up for pre-order with online retailer Flipkart. This device is called the Sony Xperia Tipo, and it is an Android 4.0 ICS-based device, priced at Rs. 9,499. It will release sometime this week.

The Xperia Tipo has a 3.2-inch TFT display of 320x240 pixel resolution. It is powered by a single core Qualcomm Scorpion processor, clocked at 800Mhz. Apart from this the device includes a 3.2 megapixel rear camera, 2.5GB of built-in storage, 512 MB RAM, microSD card slot and a 1,500 mAh battery. Sony will also provide 50GB of free cloud storage.

Samsung Galaxy Chat up for grabs in India

Announced back in July, the Samsung Galaxy Chat is now up for grabs in India via online retailer Saholic. The device sports a 3-iinch display of 240x320 pixels resolution along with a full QWERTY keypad, and hence the name Galaxy Chat.

This is a device powered by a 850 MHz processor, it runs Android 4.0 ICS, a 2 megapixel rear camera, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of built-in storage and a microSD card slot with up to 32GB of expandable memory.
