facebook adds Data security and offers Groups Feature:

After twitter, which is one of the social giant had recently made some cosmetic everyone expected the cosmetic change to happen in facebook too after facebook announced the press conference yesterday. With new features like downloading your own information including your own photos and videos, controlling information access to third party and also inclusion of new groups facebook is now reloaded.

Download your own information:

Facebook is on its way to increase the user satisfaction levels by launching a special feature wherein users can download their facebook information and content in a zip format, just in other words you can term it as a backup. This move comes after several groups criticized facebook over a closed ball room with no back up facility. With this great move from facebook one can download information ranging from photos to status updates to messages to even videos.

Control information access to third party application:

Facebook also came with other important initiative wherein people can now monitor the information accessed by the third party application which accesses the personal data. You can now see the permission you’ve granted to an app which you have granted access as well also a log of information accessed by this third party application. For example, the control panel will show if an application requires access into your friends info as well such as with a birthday calendar. So that accordingly you can control the information accessed and also what information the application has accessed in detail.

GROUPS:

Facebook also added new groups option with which it becomes even easier to build your own information space wherein you can create your own group like your cricket team, your classmates, your coffee club etc. Just all you need to do is to create a group, add friends and start sharing. Now with the launch of facebook groups, mailing lists are all set to replace as this helps setting up your group to send an email to you anytime, anyone posts in it. What’s more is, now you can also setup a separate email address for the group so that members can keep in touch when they are not on facebook. The emails which are sent are converted into the posts in the group.

You need not worry with all new facebook groups as these groups are CLOSED by default which means that people in it will only be given access to have the information posted in the group. But the name of the group will be open as it will help your friends can find the right group and can join accordingly.
